Investigative Partners

The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is a collaborative effort between the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Law Enforcement, Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division (CACD), and the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) to coordinate services during a child abuse investigation. In order to ensure the safety and protection of children, the law requires that reports of possible abuse of a child be investigated by either DHS or CACD. In cases where a crime may have occurred, law enforcement must be notified. The MDT’s primary goal is to reduce the number of times a child has to talk to different professionals thus reducing the amount of trauma the investigation places on the child.
