Mental Health

Children between birth and 18 who have experienced a trauma may be referred for therapy. In addition, siblings of those children are eligible for services. We offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), which is a specialized type of therapy for children and families of abuse. We also have therapists on site who are trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). All therapy models are evidenced-based and proven effective with children who have a history of trauma.

The Mental Health Therapists and Family Advocates will discuss therapy options with the family and make the necessary referrals to a local therapy clinic of the family’s choice.

One of our facility dogs may also be available to sit with the child during therapy appointments to help ease fears and anxieties.
